01What It Is

What is prenatal and postpartum care?

Prenatal and postpartum physical therapy supports your body through one of the most demanding physical transitions it will ever go through, before and after delivery. During pregnancy, your center of gravity shifts, your ligaments loosen, and your posture changes week to week, which is exactly why back pain, hip pain, and sciatica-like symptoms are so common. A Doctor of Physical Therapy evaluates how your changing body is moving and loading, then builds a plan of safe, effective exercise and hands-on care to ease discomfort and keep you active through your pregnancy. After delivery, the focus shifts to recovery: restoring core strength, addressing abdominal separation known as diastasis recti, and rebuilding the strength and confidence you need to return to your normal activities, whether that is lifting your baby, returning to the gym, or simply getting through a day without pain.

Every plan here is built around where you are, whether that is your second trimester or six months postpartum, and it is never a generic template. Pregnancy and the months after it are not a reason to sit still. With the right guidance, movement stays safe, and recovery afterward is steady, structured, and built specifically around your body's timeline.

02Who It's For

Who it's for.

Prenatal and postpartum care is for anyone whose body is moving through pregnancy or recovering from it, at any stage of that journey.

01

Pregnancy-related back, hip, or pelvic pain

As your posture and ligament laxity shift through pregnancy, back and hip pain often follow. We provide safe, hands-on relief and targeted exercise that keeps you comfortable and moving through every trimester.

02

Postpartum core and abdominal recovery

Abdominal separation, or diastasis recti, is common after pregnancy and does not always resolve on its own. We assess the separation and guide you through a progressive plan that rebuilds real core function and strength.

03

Returning to exercise after delivery

Getting back to running, lifting, or your regular workouts after having a baby deserves a careful, progressive plan. We help you rebuild strength and confidence at a pace that respects where your body actually is.

03What To Expect

What to expect in a session.

Every prenatal or postpartum session starts with where your body is today, then builds forward at a pace that respects your stage.

01

Whole-body movement evaluation

We assess your posture, strength, and movement patterns as they stand today, whether you are pregnant or postpartum, to understand exactly what your body needs right now.

02

Stage-appropriate hands-on care

Manual therapy and guided exercise are tailored to your stage, whether that means easing pregnancy-related tension or beginning progressive postpartum strengthening.

03

A progressive strengthening plan

Your program advances as your body is ready for it, rebuilding the core and full-body strength that supports you through pregnancy and carries you confidently into life after delivery.

Good to know

Bring any notes from your OB or midwife regarding activity restrictions, and wear comfortable clothing that allows us to assess your posture and movement clearly.

In Their Words
Caring, attentive staff, and were able to get me in same-day when I had an acute issue and I felt better immediately after. Amazed at how much progress I made in the following days, after days of no progress on my own.
